Head Full of Holes
00:38
|
|||
Head full of holes
I just had it but it passed right by
My train of thought is constantly derailing
My mind is like a crucial set of keys
Cause losing it is surprisingly easy
Head full of holes
Head full of holes
Head full of holes

Food for Thought
01:34
|
|||
They say variety’s the spice of life
Now every meal with you tastes bland
Yesterday’s dinner caused nutritional strife
Again it felt like chewing sand
When we were young our dates were oh-so-sweet
Until one was our best-before
Since we expired our love went sour
This apple’s rotten to the core
Season me
Eat me whole
Swallow every bite
That once was
Full of life
Now overcooked
Turned into a paste
Because you’re nothing more
Than a recipe for heartbreak
Grill me on this witness stand
Fry my head with food for thought
Roast me ‘til there’s nothing left
And my brain is toast
You were my forbidden fruit (forbidden fruit)
I bit off more than I could chew
Take it with a grain of salt
I’ll bite the hand that feeds (bite the hand that feeds)

Casual Friday
01:30
|
|||
Head on the keyboard
Open-space office filled with close-minded thoughts
Casual Friday
Just wearing jeans to pretend you’re one of us
Snoozing through my Zoom calls
Just another cubicle
All that’s left are daydreams
Of smashing the escape key
I don’t need no friends right?
All I meet is deadlines
I feel like an AI
A robot with a pain drive
Minimum wage
Maximum waste
Living at work
Trapped in a cage

Bubble Wrap
01:52
|
|||
Just woke from a nap
It feels like my head’s in bubble wrap
But I don’t feel too concerned
About the weight of the world resting on my back
Dazed and detached
There’s always tomorrow
Sometimes it’s just too much
To take the blanket off
And the pillow grabs
Onto my weary neck
Why should I care
As long as there’s padding around
Bubble wrap (inside and)
‘round my head (I’d rather)
Stay in bed (with all my)
Bubble wrap
I find solace in how it drowns
what’s going on inside
I hope it never pops

Colour by Numbers
02:11
|
|||
If life’s a colour by numbers I don’t see the appeal
What is with this bigger picture
You printed out for me
It’s time to cross some lines
‘cause my colours are the key
I’ve been staring at this paper for quite some time
But I’m still drawing blanks
Not making sense of the task implied
I’ll start the application
But do I dare to say
I’d rather stare into the sun
Than at what you hand to me
What is with this bigger picture
You printed out for me
It’s time to cross some lines
‘cause my colours are the key
Drink it up, fill me up
What a waste of
Ink there is on the page
Hard to clean up
Fountain pens tend to be
Tough to handle
Messy hands tryna reach
For the blotting
Paper that’s on my desk
But I don’t think
This will change anything
Just because there’s
Nothing left of the lines
That once guided
Me to where I began
Struggling to fit in

Spin the Wheel

Spin the wheel, Watch it turn!
Welcome to our new contestant!
“I’ll take ‘bad decisions’ for 1000, please!”
And just like that, we‘re off
Let‘s leave what‘s tough to choose to chance
And weighted dice
Let’s see how far you’ll make it
Without planning in advance
‘til your card declines
You’ll just survive on canned laughter
from a faceless audience
Don’t go past go
Is that your final answer?
Or would you like to phone a friend
‘Cause they won’t know
Spin the wheel, Watch it turn!

Urban Jungle
01:38
|
|||
I can’t see this world for trees and
In my mind doubt plants its seed
Leaving me shaking like a leaf
Feels like a storm is brewing
All of this is natural
I bleach my roots but after all
A widow’s peeking over my shoulder
From a crown that was my capital
Decay is just going for perfection
In a more intriguing fashion
In spring I am the biggest
But I am prettiest in fall
In solitude I’ll dry up from the ground
Branching off, grant me a second childhood
And finally I’ll grow up
Rid me of all this deadwood
All of a sudden I can hear my irritation’s source
Louder than the roaring of the thunder
This urban jungle is no place for me to stay because
It’s advertising so much greener pastures
